Idaho Springs Engagement

Megan + Chris are some of the sweetest, most down to earth people you could ever come across. They traveled from out of state to support their friend during their elopement here and deciding to get an engagement session done too while they were at it. We made the hike up to St. Mary’s Glacier in Idaho Springs. The hike can be difficult for individuals who are coming from out of state due to the elevation and the trek being 90% uphill for about 30 minutes. However, these two Floridians made their way there and we got these gorgeous engagement pictures.

My husband and I had a special connection with this couple for several reasons, but one of those being that Megan is originally from Trinidad and Tobago, which is a small island country off Venezuela. Ironically, that is where my husband’s mother is also from! We have never met another Trinidadian outside of family before, so that was really cool and exciting.

Megan also has a skin condition called vitiligo, in which the skin loses pigment cells. I absolutely love these photos of her hands and ring which proudly display her beauty. I know so many people struggle once they first beginning having symptoms of vitiligo because it is something that is out of their own control, and people face insecurities or bullying from it. It makes me so happy to see Megan comfortable in her own skin, because her skin condition is not something to hide but rather something to celebrate in its beauty
