Boulder Engagement at Chautauqua Park and Lost Gulch

This future bride and groom made their way out from Georgia to start planning their Colorado wedding for next fall. What better way to kick off the wedding planning than to meet with your photographer exactly one year from your wedding date and get some engagement photos done?

First we started out at Chautauqua Park in Boulder. Obviously this is an extremely busy location, so I typically recommend going here on weekdays if possible! This location also requires a permit through OSMP which can be obtained through their website. Personally I now purchase a year-round permit in order to best accommodate my clients and not limit my accessibility for sessions.

Next location, we just drove a little bit up the mountain to the incredible Lost Gulch. The fall gloominess hit perfectly. Luckily the weather was not too cold, which can sometimes happen with Colorado’s unpredictable weather. Lost Gulch is always ALWAYS guaranteed to be packed with people and is by no means a private location, but fortunately most people who go up there are respectful of each other and try to allow people to get nice photos. As you can see in these photos, we had no problem making it work despite sharing the location with others.
