Intimate Wedding in Frisco
Brandi + Charles decided to elope in the state they once called home. It was extremely important for the couple to incorporate all things sentimental on their wedding day, as these are the pieces of their lives that brought them to where they are today. The couple had three guests in attendance- their dog, the groom’s sister, and the bride’s grandfather (who very obviously shared a special bond with Brandi). From handmade wedding bands (which they took a class for and made in cherry creek while they lived here), personalized cufflinks of their German shepherd, a personalized tennis ball custom made with the initial of their last name, a handprinted champagne bottle by the bride, socks embroidered with their last name, and a piece of the bride’s dress being used for their dog’s scarf.
The couple helped each other get ready and did an emotional first look with their people at their air bnb in Frisco. Followed by that, we went up to a trailhead overlooking all of Dillon, which was an incredible viewpoint for the fall colors and mountains. To end the night, the couple chose to exchange vows at Officer’s Gulch near frisco, Colorado. After sharing their vows, Brandi’s grandpa came up and gave her the biggest hug with tears in his eyes as he said, “How did we go from picking you up from the hospital to this?”, which will forever be burned into my memory as one of the sweetest, most genuine exchanges that I have ever witnessed as a wedding and elopement photographer. To celebrate, the group shared cupcakes and toasts after a champagne pop by the couple. Everyone drank out of the same bottle as they passed it along then we pulled out some lanterns for some really dramatic, artistic gorgeous portrait shots after dusk. The reflection of the couple was shining against the mountain pond, creating one of my most favorite pictures that I have taken thus far in my career.
